Start early with a fireworks display on August 14 at Portes-en-Ré

Pretty little quiet and peaceful village in winter, it comes alive in summer around its small Place de la Liberté. Les Portes en Ré is a preserved village in the heart of a protected environment, with the Maison du Fier, located at the entrance to the Lilleau des Niges ornithological reserve, 40 minutes from our 5-star campsite. The doors in D celebrate August 15 in advance, and invite you to meet on August 14 from 9:45 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. on Place de la Liberté.

Spend an unforgettable moment thanks to the sea festival at the port of Saint Martin de Ré

Get a change of scenery and go directly to the port of St Martin to attend the local sea festival which will take place on August 15 from 10 a.m. until midnight. St Martin de Ré is the historic capital of the Ile de Ré, it is located 15 minutes by bike from our campsite.
The day will begin at 10:30 a.m. with a mass for the sailors which will take place in the church of Saint-Martin. If the opportunity arises, take to the skies by climbing to the top of the church's observatory bell tower. You will discover a breathtaking panorama of the port of Saint Martin and the Atlantic Ocean as far as the eye can see.
The festivities continue at 4:30 p.m., with a wreath laying at sea in commemoration of the victims of peril at sea.
The evening will begin at 6:30 p.m. with a reception offered by the municipality and will end at 11:00 p.m. with a fireworks display on the Port of St Martin de Ré.
Regarding the on-site catering, you can from 12:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. taste oysters (by the Cercle Nautique Martinais), grilled tuna (by the association of former blue-collar workers from the Ile de Ré) and finally grilled sausages (by the Social Works Committee).
Like every year, the “Nautilus Plongée Ile de Ré” will offer free first dives to young people and teenagers from 12 years old in a mobile seawater pool on the port from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. (equipment provided).
